Oedipus Rex Gallery

Oedipus Rex was established in 1990. It is known far and wide for showcasing the works of established and emerging artists. It has earned a reputation for taking risks and discovering new talent. The gallery stages a new show every three to four weeks.

It usually includes a mix of figurative and abstract painting, sculpture and photography. In recent years, the gallery has acquired a number of young artists of Polynesian - indigenous Maori and Pacific Island. It reflects the depth and richness of the cultural fusion unique to New Zealand.

The gallery is owned and managed by its founding Director, Jennifer Buckley with the support of Co- Director Rex Armstrong and gallery assistant, Shelley Hargis. It displays the works of established artists introduces innovative work by newcomers.

Museum Hours:
Monday - Friday 11 am - 5 pm;
Saturday - 11 am - 3 pm.
