Thai Friends

As the name of the restaurant suggests, Thai Friends restaurant welcomes its customers and makes friends with them. Its staff is among the most helpful and polite of all Auckland's restaurants.

Thai Friends is tranquil with Thai- inspired decoration that incorporates subtle colors and textures. The large menu is fairly authentic and delicious. Start with a combination of the entree items and enjoy the delicate pastries, tasty fish cakes and steamed dumplings which are all light enough not to spoil your appetite.

There's an enormous selection of dishes. Of course, Thai food can be fiery and titillate all the senses so beware of the very hot items. Chicken, beef, pork, duck and seafood are all given the Thai treatment and the noodle and rice dishes should not be overlooked. Good selections of beers authentically sourced from Thailand are always on the list.

Thai Friends has four separate dining areas offering different environments. Downstairs is traditional and cozy. The view from here is similar to that enjoyed by the Java room - down over the trees to the peaks of the CBD towers.
